Connecting Luv: Mark L. and Amy W.'s First Exchange...Awwww.

A mere taste of A. Wiley's Fruit Sticker Collection
Mik Chiks = Green
LaBuff = Black
A.Wiley = Purple
Mark L. = Red

Good Friday Morning Readers!
Here it is—The LaBuff's Compatibility Questionnaire for A. Wiley and Mark L.  At the end we will ask you to give them a compatibility rating.  Most of you know A. Wiley better than Mark L.  We had some conversation with him that gave us utmost confidence in his character and kindness:  the two cks

Here we go—be sure to check out their last answers.
 1.  Complete this sentence:   Every time I hear a little bell, I wish that...
…my dog Rebel was still alive. (We taught him to ring a bell on the door when he needed to go out.)
…it was really a cow-bell keeping rhythm to a go-go beat.

2.    2.  Rank these hobbies from most favorite to least favorite
Sheep-shearing #3
Collecting fruit origin stickers #1 (wow!  what are the odds of that)
Bigfoot Research Associate (dedicated to proving that Bigfoot exists) #2
Repairing ripped junk mail envelopes (to recycle or reuse) #4
C. Bigfoot does exist. I live in Bigfoot country. I know these things.
B. I used to collect fruit stickers when I was little. I'd forgotten that. I don't know which is scarier, that I made "display cases" for them by pasting them in little rows on the paper outside of gum wrappers, or that I actually still have some of them in the back of my drawer.
(If your hobby isn't listed above, then tell what it is and why you like it)
My hobby is filling out silly, er, I mean, clever forms that my dear friends send me to be posted all over the World Wide Web.

3.    3.  If I were to go back for more schooling I'd study…  (pick up to 2 or 3)
The effects of soda pop on the elderly **SELECT
How to teach an old dog how to pull a rabbit from a hat
How snoring affects our weather patterns
Esperanto (and why it should become our global language) **SELECT
I think Gestuno would be a better global language... it's an international sign language (that only like two people are fluent in, but that's beside the point). Then Deaf people wouldn't be excluded and we could all converse through glass windows, across noisy rooms, and with our mouths full.

4.   4.   What is the one thing that you enjoy (that you actually get paid to do)?
I actually enjoy almost everything I get paid to do. That includes writing, editing, formatting, and soon I will get paid for interpreting, too. Yay for words!
Tell people how messed up our government is and how we can plan to fix it (usually data problems tracking which offices have the biggest issues).

5.   4.  What is the one thing you enjoy that you don't get paid for?
All the above mentioned things, half the time, haha.  And... let's see... umm, reading books. Lots of books. I should start writing book reviews and selling them and then I could get paid for that, too!
School to an extent, I have a week and a half left... i'm doing this as a study break :-)

6.  5.   Complete these phrases (be creative)….
If wishes were horses … they would stand in the neighbor's yard, watching me mournfully, wishing I had brought them a carrot. My wishes are quite destitute for lack of carrots and sugar.
If wishes were horses … washes would be camels
It was the best of times, it was the…snarliest of times.
It was the best of times, it was the…coolest of times.
To know me is to….know the sparrow that flits across the sky in graceful swoops, even amidst the harshest of winds, bringing smiles and hope to all who catch a glimpse of her.
To know me is to….know how to be a rock star

7.    6.  My ideal job is…
…interpreting music and theater and being paid well for it, and being paid regularly for my writing. In other words, being paid for my cleverly-spun, beautifully wrought words.
…to own and operate my own Bank chain with a wide array of management and financial consulting services.

8.   7.  The qualifications I'm looking for in a person are:
Does not bite fingernails- that's good
Knows how to use a comb or hairbrush- that's great
Can tie your shoes in ten seconds or less- talk about a bonus.. but nah, that's a lil weird. maybe if i was really sick, that'd be really nice.
Doesn't lick fingers and then reach back into the shared chips while they are still slobbery
How about get along well with kids?

9.    8.  My most memorable accomplishment was….
…getting to the end of this form! Oh, and finishing the interpreting program... and finishing the rough draft of a novel, haha! Been trying to write a novel for about twenty years (yes, since I was very young) and just now managed to actually finish one.
not sure, but the one that came to mind the quickest was...
getting the John Phillips Sousa award for being a great tuba player in High School.

The two add-ons, remembering how important the food category is (yes, readers, initially LaBuff forgot the food category—sad):

10.  9.  Rank these foods in order of favorite
Beef tongue #2
Cow brains #4
Chicken gizzards #3
Bacon #1
Tongue is actually not bad... The taste buds make it quite a unique texture, too... I like bacon if it doesn't have too much poison in it (preservatives and flavorings), but I haven't had the honor of eating the other two things.

11.  10.  My favorite dish/meal to prepare is?
Grasshoppers caught fresh from the field, de-headed (that black tar they spit out is kinda bitter) and fried with oil and garlic. Okay, okay, so actually grasshoppers are rather spiny and don't have much taste (my uncle from Indonesia helped us cook them). My real favorite thing to cook is beef or lamb roast. It can be flavored so many ways with just some sprinkles of spices (garlic and onion, sage and thyme, or my fav, cinnamon) and then will cook all on its own in the crock pot.
I don't really cook much variety, but probably grilled chicken w/ lots of peppers. Or spaghetti ...

BONUS QUESTION:  Tell what you consider the most important thing about yourself, and why?
I can laugh even during tough times and struggles. I know this world isn't the be-all/end-all. Heaven is waiting. And because Lots of personal experiences have shown me that God can and does bring good things out of dark times.
My attitude, because I understand how to smile even when things are uncomfortable.

Well readers! What do we think?  That last question speaks volumes, eh?  We at Connecting Now think that there is real potential here.  And Maddie is still chortling over "washes would be camels".  Based on what you've read and what kind of mood you're in, please give these two a Compatibility Rating  on a scale of 1 through 10.  One being low:)

Then have yourself a safe and warm weekend permeated with brotherly love!

All in Goodwill,
Maddie and Lisa

  2. I'd give a 2/10 as far as dating goes, but they'd make great friends.

  3. Excellent survey. I'm thinking 8/10, which is pretty stinkin' good when you consider the randomness of fruit stickers. "Washes would be camels" was most definitely snort-worthy.
