Connecting Luv: A. Wiley Strikes Again

Readers!

You may all remember a certain A. Wiley of our recent contest for Stainless Steel Status. Well, she's back. And this time she's out to win the heart of Mark L. (Watch out Mark, she's a wily one...get it?)

Anyhoo, here's a (not so) brief bio on our lovely lady:

Let’s see, about me. I live in the beautiful rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by green trees, rivers, mountains, and not too far from the ocean. I’m twenty-eight and yes, that’s a fairly current picture of me and yes, I know I look very young.

I love people and words, and am  fluent in both English (never would have guessed that one, would you?) and American Sign Language (ASL). I’m a freelance writer and editor and a sign language interpreter. I especially love to write fiction, as I have a wild imagination.  Working with others also gives me joy, which is why I started an international collaborative fiction group called, Peculiar People.

Music is another love. I play the piano but am very bad at it. I much prefer singing and have a nice backup-singer voice. I also love to “sing” in sign language. It’s difficult to translate poetry between any two languages, and putting it to music is another challenge, but when it all comes together and flows then it’s wonderful—I can worship God with my whole body.

I just graduated last spring with a certificate from a specialized sign language interpreting program—only because of the grace of God. It’s an incredibly tough program that has a graduation rate of something like 20%. My chronic health issues made it even more challenging, and it took me a long time, but I made it! I have the final for my last general ed class (math) this week and then I’ll be graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Sign Language Interpretation (though with all the work that went into it I feel like I should have at least a BA if not an MA, haha).

My family is also very important to me. I’m blessed to live near all my immediate family and enjoy being auntie to my three nieces. We have a blast.

Okay, this is getting long (I am a writer, after all), so enough about me.

As for Mark, I like that he finds family important and that he loves music. I noticed that although he’s obviously a hard worker, he's also willing  to let loose and have fun and even be silly.

For the moment, I'm looking to start a friendship that could potentially grow into something more. I don't want to get in too deep, too fast, but I would definitely love to "meet" Mark. :)

Yes Mark. Little Miss Wiley is indeed the total 3-B package: Brains, Beauty and Biting Wit...for more info on that last part, you can check out some of our previous blogs.

We'll give this bio time to simmer while the two of you fill out the questionnaire prepared by a representative of the LaBuff party.  B. LaBuff assures us/you/readers that no revenge went into the making of said questionnaire.  Suuuuure.   The questions and your responses will be posted on Friday.

Remember to be honest, but most of all entertaining!

Can't Wait!

All in Goodwill,
Maddie and Lisa

  1. As someone who has actually met Amy in person, I can attest to the fact that she does in fact know English. :-)

    Very well even.

  3. Oh, gosh, Amy is like the daughter I never had.

Oh, wait, I had a daughter. Two of them, in fact. Let me try again.

Amy's the best, and whoever befriends her should not be in the least bit intimidated by the fact that she has roughly a few hundred woman who consider her the daughter she never had. Not to mention her ACTUAL mother, who is quite lovely.

Okay, scrap all that. Amy's simply the best. Be her friend immediately.

  4. Ditto Jan. Well, 'cept for the daughter part. Amy is more like the friend I never had. No wait, that sounds really terrible. So nevermind the ditto part. Except for the part about Amy being the best. Cause she is.

IMO, Amy is as smart as a whip, yet as gentle and humble as can be. She has a mischievous smile, but a heart of gold. She's focused and firm, but loves any excuse to laugh with friends. And oh yeah, she has really, really gorgeous hair.

  6. Well, as someone who actually lives in the same town as Amy (yay, me!), I can confirm that the Pacific Northwest is quite beautiful...oh, wait, this is supposed to be about Amy. Well, Amy is, simply put, the best friend a girl can have. How about that?
