The Prizes!

Dear Readers,
Here are the winners and the prizes they chose!  We couldn't have done a better job!

From Pat G.(who wrote about her Dad and Mom)

I'm going to line my window sill (can't stand that old marbley stuff) and use it as a backdrop for my menagerie of hibiscus this season. It'll be such a beautiful contrast!

Love black.

The fringe looks like the nautilus inside the conch! Perfect for the beachiness of the room!

Thanks so much--what a wonderful surprise.

From Ann N.
Thanks again for the fun contest.  I'm excited about the prize!  Eddie found a great deal on Amazon 'today's deals' last night, and got me a felting machine on sale!
Here's what he bought me, but for a lot less money!

Sooooo--I'll get a fiber sampler from your Etsy prize to play with my new toy:

From George P.
I figure a new hat and bow tie would bring out the 007/Roger Moore/Pierce Brosnan/ladies-man side of me that Miss B likes so well. Although I think she would like it better on Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan than George--but it could happen.

From Minda M.
I went to the blog when I got your email and I've been browsing on Etsy. Here's what I liked, and thank you both so much.

Happy Friday!

From Donna A.

I was thinking about when Charley and I first met face to face. We made plans to meet a week after our first phone conversation. I sent him a picture of our family, but for some reason he never got it. So he was basically coming to see me/us sight unseen. During our first phone call, when he found out it was my birthday the next day, he promised to bring me some chocolate covered pretzels.

On the day he arrived I was in the middle of getting living room furniture from my Mom, so when Charley arrived, I greeted him at the door and apologized for the empty space/mess and said, "my Mom is on her way over with some furniture." He said, "oh, okay, these are for her" and handed me the box of chocolate covered pretzels. I was thinking to myself, why is he giving those to her, I thought they were for me??? Then Mandy walked into the room and I introduced her to him, "this is my daughter, Mandy ..."

He did a double-take ... looked at Mandy, then looked at me and said, "Oh!" He realized at that moment who I was ... he had given me the gift for "my Mom" thinking that I was Mandy. :)

I had just turned 35, so I couldn't think of a better way to start a relationship than for the guy to think I was the teenage daughter. ;) So, in honor of that kind of burning love, I'd like to celebrate with some chocolate covered pretzels.

So there you have it, Readers!  The winners and the prizes they chose.  It was neat to see what they picked and to hear their explanations.

Pat's choice could be looked at as macabre--black and wrapped around the neck--but no, the way she described it, it's a backdrop to beauty.

Ann's shows a partnership with a loving husband--one who's looking out for her.

We're still chuckling over George's selection! Dapper!!!  Lucky Miss B!

Minda's  heart is tre-cool and artsy and beautiful!  Just like she is.

And we loved Donna's explanation of the beginning of her and Charley's Burning Love.

Clinking glasses over little ways we can show the people we love, how much we love them--even in March!

May You Go Forth in Love!
Mucho Amore,
Lisa and Maddie

  4. Super cool! Great picks, people.

And I just want to say that my hubs will very likely be filing an official complaint to the Mik Chiks. I've NEVER been on Etsy before (for shame), but have just spent the better part of an hour filling my online shopping cart with TREASURES!!!! Gasp! This is better than Pinterest & my local antique shop combined. Boom.

  5. It's our go-to site for gifts, Di! Your last line (before the Boom) is the bomb in it's description, too. We anxiously await Hubs complaint!

  6. Maybe it's a clip-on bow tie. Of course I don't have a clue as to what the little fella in the pic could have it clipped on seeing as how he's not wearing a shirt.
