| a tankini offered at SwimSpot |
Dear Readers!
Apparently being an out-of-work Conundrum Solver has an upside—like you get to post about the trouble you get
into while you have this extra time on your hands—and people enjoy it, (Schadenfreude
at its finest!), and somehow Marketing People find you.
And then you get to
offer your Wonderful Readers awesomeness!
But first a
question: What's worse that squeeeeeeeezing
yourself into a long column dress that should fit, but was probably mis-sized
and has no give causing you to become stuck in it like an encased sausage—till a
baffled sales associate pulls and tugs it back over your head—judgment written
all over her disapproving face?
I'll tell you what's
worse—shopping for a swimsuit! I have
not bought a new one in about eight years—and Maddie my dd, and Holly my gf,
can verify this statement. It was back then almost a decade ago when I found
a cover-up for a swimsuit that had lycra in it.
I stitched a certain undergarment into it (somewhere between the neck
and the waist) and called it a swim-dress.
I was ahead of my time.
But then Bambi from SwimSpot contacted me. And that is her real name—no comments please—she's
a lovely woman! She asked me to check
out SwimSpot, and if I liked what I saw and wanted to blog about it, that she
would give one of my Wonderful Readers a $50.00 Gift Certificate to the site. I responded enthusiastically, because really—what
else am I doing with my life?—and she responded by upping the certificate to
$75.00!
SwimSpot has it going on! They offer a vast selection of Designer Brand Swimwear, plus special features
such as Concierge Service, The Fit
Specialist, and the Bikini Builder that help customers choose the perfect
swimsuit for themselves.
Here's one of the videos from The Fit Specialists:
No more standing in front of the
department store mirror trying on suit after suit that doesn't fit your shape, while
feeling queasy under glaring florescent light.
Those days are over!
Can you say Free Shipping and Exchanges!
If you're looking for a great fitting one-piece, swim dress, tankini, bikini, or swim accessories, you'll find them at Swim Spot!
If you're looking for a great fitting one-piece, swim dress, tankini, bikini, or swim accessories, you'll find them at Swim Spot!
Ergo Madeline never fear! This is the year I'll
buy a new swimsuit! And I'm not joking—I
found several Tankinis with skirted bottoms and a real swim dress that I love.
So Readers, I am truly excited for you to win a
$75.00 certificate to this site.
And what Bambi asks for in return is that you 1)
Check out SwimSpot; 2) Like them on Facebook, and 3) Share this wonderful blog post
with your friends—okay that last one was mine.
But if you do share, we'll give you an extra chance in the drawing. Then leave a comment here on the blog to let me
know what you've done. We'll take it
from there!
I forgot to ask how long we should keep the drawing open, so let's just say till next Friday—unless I hear otherwise.
Wishing everyone Gut Gluck and a harrow-less Bathing Suit
Season!
All in Goodwill,
~Lisa
P.S. We're still working on the new look for this site (this is not it), and the layout for the new blog. Maddie's dragging her feet on a title. Just saying. . . .

Been looking for a new suit myself, so I'm definitely checking out the site and I'll like it on Facebook. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
ReplyDeleteI did 1, 2 & 3. Because I really, really, really need a new swimsuit. Really. If I post a pic of me in my current ill-fitting suit, could I get, say...10 extra entries? :)
ReplyDeleteI went to the shop...they have some nice pieces even for old ladies like me! :) I like the options of the skirted bottom with the bandeau tops!! cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I liked them on Facebook too! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm all about a new swimsuit! I'm wearing my "favorite" right now, and the elastic in the bottoms is somewhat lacking. I'll definitely check this out and share. If they have my odd-body, size, they might just have a new customer!
ReplyDeleteliked them on facebook and sending out a emial now to some friends about your giveaway :-)

I'm in. Won't wear it if I win it, but I definitely know someone who would.
ReplyDeleteOh, I should add that I "liked" their site, and I'm off to go share the post.
ReplyDeleteI checked out their site, liked them on facebook and I love their Ella Moss Calypso Stripe Halter Top and Tie Side Bikini Bottom. Engineergirl@mail.com

Somehow the visual of Cat's elastic-lacking-bottom has prompted a FB like, a post share and whatever else you said, for sadly, I threw my elastic lacking swimsuit away ages ago.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's time Cat find a new favorite.
Perfect timing!
Cool beans!
Thanks, Joey!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice one:).
ReplyDeleteI bet you do!
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteI liked those, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome deal! Unfortunately, I've just bought a new suit that I've still got to work up the courage to wear outside my bedroom. :)
ReplyDeleteI did share it on face book and google+ though.
ReplyDeleteswimspot checked. facebook liked. blog post shared. and I promise when I win to do something utterly unselfish with my certificate. like wear it (the new swimsuit, not the certificate) to the beach. while thinking of all my friends and feeling guilty for not taking them with me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Robyn. Especially about the not feeling guilty part. ; )
Deletei am totally digging that blue-gray tankini in the pic...kind of retro looking and just simply sexy and beautiful!
ReplyDeletedone and done...;)
ReplyDeleteWow. I looked and they may actually have something for me, a small individual who does NOT want to show everything off. Imagine that! Granted it's a tankini, but better than nothing. Now of only I could get swimsuit manufactures to understand that there are some very petite individuals who like ONE piece suites who don't want to show everything off. Some of them appear to be a step in the right direction, however...
ReplyDeleteOh,and I "liked" them on Facebook and shared this post too. And if I can't find something I could wear, I'm sure I'll be able to find a friend who could use the certificate.
ReplyDeleteThis is really an awesome giveaway. Completed the formalities. Hope I would this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOk Gals, just had to pop in here and respond. Ol' Red has a couple issues that line right up with Lady Conundrum-Solver's latest post. I know it's been a while since I've chimed in here, but I'm never far away. I love reading this and often wonder what I can share. But today I most definitely need your help.
ReplyDeleteAs you might guess, Honeybun likes his woman to maintain her uniquely modest appreance. He can be just a tad bit jealous, ya know? Anyway, after nearly ten years (ahem, that's the truth--I'm not copying Lady Conundrum-Solver), Ol' Red needed a new bathing suit. So, I went from store to store, made my way through rack after rack of bikinis and skimpy "Candy Bar Wrappers" (that's what Honeybun calls them since they tend to wrap up his "sweet thing" [that's me] a little too tightly). I finally gave up and bought a two-piece. The top is very modest and blousy and I love the colors (it accentuates my hair and my eyes). But the bottom is still a little too short for our taste. [Honeybun has always told me that leaving more to the imagination is more *ahem* exciting than letting it all hang out!]
After looking at Lady Conundrum-Solver's recommended swimsuit site, I found the bottom I wanted. So, here's where I need your help: Can one purchase just a bottom to a suit without causing someone to raise their eyebrows? I mean, it would not be right for a 60-something year-old diva to even suggest that she doesn't need a top and possibly infer we would visit a topless or (God forbid) a full-disclosure beach!!! So, what say you? Can just a bottom be bought and, if so, how can it be done without causing the salespersons to raise an eyebrow??????
Help me, ladies!
Lookin' to Please,
Ol' Red
Well, I liked it on FB, and went thru the site, building my dream bathing suit, but can't share it or I'll give myself away. But, I'll have some friends share it on FB. Will that count?
ReplyDeleteLiked, shared, perused website and really, really want :D
ReplyDeleteWhy not have two suits to wear? Buy the top & bottom and then pair the bottoms with both tops (not at the same time obviously) and you will have two gorgeous new suits for Honeybun to admire you in.
ReplyDeleteFabulous blog Lisa, you make me smile all the time with your cheeky humor. Absolutely love the Swimspot website and having a tough time deciding what to buy. Happy as always to share on Facebook all that you offer.
ReplyDeleteI liked them on FB, and from their site I liked the Athena Moorea Bandini top and Retro bottom! Cute. yestfl@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteThank you! You are in the drawing!
ReplyDeleteI think their retro suits are really cute:).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jen:).
ReplyDeleteThank you, and you're in!
ReplyDeleteI believe just the bottom can be bought! If you send me the link, I can check it out--or ask Bambi to help! And it's NOT strange:). I've done it. . . .well, then maybe it is strange:).
ReplyDeleteGreat Advice, Jen!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ol Red!
ReplyDeleteThank you, and good luck!
ReplyDeleteCute suits! I liked and shared on FB!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like the Athena - Isle Of Capri Tankini Top, and I am a fan of Swim Spot on Facebook!

ReplyDeleteAfter looking over the website, I feel that I might actually get into a bathing suit this year! Great selection and I'm crossing my fingers to win!! I liked the FB page and have shared it there as well!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I am not seeing my comment from days ago, so I will say again...I did 1, 2, and 3:)
ReplyDeleteWell, I have no idea how I missed THIS. Looks like I'm getting in just under the wire, though.
ReplyDeleteI love the splendid carnival triangle bikini top and matching bottoms. :)
